A prototype temporal displacement device, buried in his uncle's cluttered garage, sent him lurching twenty-four years into the future with nothing but a half-charged phone, a hoodie, and an alarming lack of preparation.

The 2050 he landed in is barely recognisable. AI doesn't just assist life here — it is life. Cities think. Buildings breathe. Doctors retired a decade ago. Schools dissolved into personalised intelligence ecosystems. Even grief counselling and government policy run through AI frameworks that have quietly made human inefficiency feel quaint.
